“If you start judging people you will be having no time to love them… If we cannot love the person whom we see, how can we love god, whom we cannot see? ~ Mother Teresa

A week away from home

This past week Mr Hardy and I took the kids up to Idaho, unexpectedly.
We got a call from Grandma Peck on Sunday letting Mr Hardy know that his Grandfather Mickelsen passed away. There was no way we could book a flight in 2 hours and pay for all of us to go. Also there was no way that I was going to let Mr Hardy miss his last goodbyes. So I looked at him and I said "lets get packing we only have so much time to load the car and get to Idaho. He looked at me like I was crazy. So off to packing I was. We loaded up and on our way we went. On the way there my little girl Sue got sick. She threw up all over herself and her car seat. She sure was excited that she didn't have to sit in her car seat the rest of the way.
We got to Idaho about 9am the next day and only had time to take a shower and get ready for the funeral. Mr Hardy's mother stayed home with the kids while we went to the funeral. It was a beautiful funeral, and lots of nice family members there. We got to hear great stories about this amazing man, and he seemed like he was a comedian and full of life. Mr Hardy was adopted when he was a little boy so he didn't really have a relationship with this family, just a small one. A year ago when we were there visiting we stopped by and I got to meet this side of the family. I'll have to admit I was a little nervous, but they accepted me and are totally good people. We all talked and had a good time. We made a promise to always make sure we see them when we are in Idaho. Now we will be missing Grandfather Mickelsen and seeing Grandmother Mickelsen when we are there.
Rest in Peace

Later that day we went to get the boys. They had no idea we were there. They were so excited to see us it was awesome. I got to visit them a few times during the week and watch Cam swim and Austin do his karate. They do so good. I was very impressed! Of course Austin and Sue hit it off just like always. They got out of the car and started to hold hands. They missed eachother, I think we are going to try to do this more often so they can see eachother a little more.

Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of Austin in his Karate gear, Im really bad at not bringing my camera places Im going to start working on that. Because I missed out on a lot of good memories (picure wise) However we all had a great time. Saturday was Austins 6th Birthday we had him a little party with some of his cousins and Aunts and Uncles on the Hardy/Peck side. He had a good time. During the week I got to do some shopping with my Mother in law. It was fun, I love shopping, her and I really needed the time together. Mr Hardy left Tuesday evening and came back on Friday to get us and we drove back home Sunday. It was a much needed trip and family time.
Finally Sunday morning there was snow. I wished for snow all week and didn't get any until the day we were leaving. My car has never seen snow, My kids want to eat the snow, and I just wanted to enjoy the white weather. But I didn't get to until we were driving home.
My little Sammi got a bad cough while we were there, she was sick on the way home so Mr Hardy turned her around to make her a little happier. We got home and I took her to the Dr to find out she got croup. It is so sad to see her so sick yet she still wears that big smile on her face. Our little man Eats, he got sick on the way home as well and luckily threw up on his blanket and not on his car seat. He has three new teeth coming in, and it has been miserable.
The kids want to so badly go back and visit already.
Thank you for having us.
Hopefully soon we can do it again!
