Meet "Spike"
Since the first Spring break we lived in our new home and I found a dead scorpion in my vanity light.
Every summer, Spring break, or holiday, Austin must go scorpion hunting
(totally not my favorite thing)
About a week before Austin came to town I found a scorpion in the front yard. It was totally scary and I was not prepared for it, but are you ever?
Well Dad made sure to tell Austin about the scorpion so he was more excited to find one.
As I was doing laundry one morning last week, I thought it was time to clean up a little I had a few plastic bags that needed to go to the trash. So I picked one up and there was my laundry helper.!
Totally scared I jumped on the dryer trying to think about what I needed to do before he ran out on a rampage and started stinging everyone. I reached over to my phone and called Dad, he says all calm,
"just put a cup over it and scoop him up"
I'm thinking REALLY, that's all I have to do?
He is not a small guy in any way, so I hung up and called my neighbors husband (Mrs Allison, and James)
He came over and put him in a zip lock bag!
Up woke Austin and I showed him his scorpion in hopes to just be done looking and he would have his scorpion fix.
But the fun begins, we now need to find him a "habitat" and food, and we also need to name him!
SO off to Wal Mart we went, to get a few things.
We came home built our friend his home, gave him a grass hopper to eat and a cotton ball for his water. We also agreed on Spike for his name.
Austin is so in love with this guy, about every hour he checks on him to make sure he is OK. But now he wants to find him a mate so they can have babies!
I do not want his mate to be lost in my laundry room with babies!
Did not even think about that!
