“If you start judging people you will be having no time to love them… If we cannot love the person whom we see, how can we love god, whom we cannot see? ~ Mother Teresa

24 days till Christmas

On the 3rd day of Christmas our card read:
Doing something good for others is always a reward, Today we will pick four Angels off the Christmas tree for Families in need.
Every year we pick Angles off a tree to shop for. It is self rewarding knowing that you are helping a family going through a hard time. Growing up my mom did not have very much money, but she always picked an Angel off the tree, we use to get so excited to help her pick one, and shop for whom ever we needed to shop for. And I have passed this tradition down to my kids.
Explaining the gift of giving and not always receiving was a bit of a challenge. But now that they all understand, and they are all very excited to shop for our Angels, and get them their needs/wants.  As a mother and growing up in a home where times were tough. (Call me an old school mom) I feel clothes are way more important than toys. Explains my kids closets :)
Because we got a late start on picking out our Angels, and the mall was not on Holiday hours yet, we have yet to shop for our Angels. But we will another day.

We asked the kids to pick an Angel of their age and sex to shop for.
Austin picked - Esteban 8years old whom asked for a bike or walkie talkies
Candice picked - Magally 5 years old whom asked for a bike
Ethan picked - Glen 4 years old  whom asked for a bike or a batman
Sammie picked - Miranda 3 years old whom asked for a fisher price camera

That was our 3rd day of Christmas
