So far this year has been a struggle for Poppy, and for the rest of our family.
Poppy HATES going to the Dr, he HATES telling people he doesn't feel good.
So he deals with the pain.
Poppy went in to the ER December 23rd, Thursday with "pneumonia" it was so bad that he had a very hard time breathing. He has been in and out of ICU since he was admitted.
We got some answers this morning and not the ones that we were praying for.
He is full of cancer, they are not giving him much time.
But I wanted to write a few of the BEST memories.
Im so Thankful that he was a part of my life!
Poppy has always been the life of our family.
Everyone gets excited to see him.
He loves his family more then anything in this world.
Every time I tell him he is "handsome" he says "I KNOW"
I tell him all the time because he makes me laugh, and its the truth.
Then he just smiles.
He loves to joke and push a few buttons. Then he laughs about it.
He just LOVES to joke.
Growing up, I always remember him yelling at my Grandma..."BARB...get me some coffee"
He LOVES his coffee.
Everyone would laugh so he would keep yelling "BARB..."
He loved to show us new things and teach us everything.
Every time we would go to his house he'd have some kind of project going on.
Sometimes unfinished, but he was so proud of it.
He had a 79 Chevy that he just LOVED!
My brother got to inherit it
When the "Notre Dame" games are on. Don't talk just hope they win!
BIG time Notre Dame fan!!
I love giving Poppy BIG FAT kisses, and BIG FAT bear hugs!
And Poppy just adores ALL of our children.
He gets excited to see them, and hold them.
He is so accepting, and BIG hearted!
Poppy's Birthday is October 19th and its also a big day for me.
On my Wedding night I sang Happy Birthday to him, and he just SMILED!
Thank You Poppy for sharing your Birthday with me!
Poppy had a stroke 5 years ago, and he changed a lot,
It has been hard and a huge concern.
Until now.....I'm scared to say good bye.
When will we see him again.
Things will be so different with out him.
I love you Poppy!

Kelly, I know this must be horribly hard for you, but he IS still here, so make the most of it. He is still a part of your present, not just your past.
ReplyDeleteBig fat hugs from all of us , sweetie.
So sorry for the pain and the heartache.
